  • I’m The Strongest Person On The Planet

    Happy Sunday! 😀 Today’s post is going to be a bit different than my usual daily recaps, so if anyone reading this is looking for their normal laugh (Dave), then I’m afraid you’ll have to look somewhere else. I’d like to talk about something really cool that I did this weekend.

    Yesterday, I participated in a competition at my gym. The competition was called the Level Up Games, and I have been working towards it all year. It has been my main goal since I watched last year’s competition. Seeing the strength and determination in everyone’s faces as they fought through every round was so inspiring. I stood there last year just amazed at what they were doing, knowing that there was no way I could have done it in that moment. I decided that I was going to work hard to be ready for the next time I was given the opportunity to do something like that. And that’s what I did. It’s what I’ve focused on all year; anyone that spends any amount of time with me has heard the words “Level Up” way more than they probably wished to. I just wanted to be able to say that I tried it, and now I can!

    The competition consisted of three different rounds. Each round was capped at 10 minutes, and the only thing I cared about was not getting disqualified by going over that time limit. I would have been fine with 9 minutes 59 seconds. I was nervous and doubting myself and I almost talked myself out of a it a few times, but I did it anyway and I actually really surprised myself. My times were way better than I expected, and I didn’t fall down or pass out or throw up or die. All things I was very scared were going to happen to me while my friends and family stood around and watched. I’m so glad none of those things happened, that would have been so embarrassing and also gross. I finished all three rounds with minutes to spare, and I am really, really proud of myself.

    Working all year to get my body to a place to even consider doing this was hard. Deciding to sign up for the competition was hard. Practicing the workouts in the two months leading up to it was hard. Showing up yesterday and giving it absolutely everything that I had was hard. But I did it. I fought through every moment that I wanted to break and wanted to give up. I kept going because I wanted to prove to myself that I could. And when it was over, I felt incredibly strong and proud and grateful.

    Before I wrap this up, I just want to share what my favorite part of this whole experience was. Taking on this challenge reminded me of how much love and support that I have in my life. My entire family showed up to cheer me on. Some very lovely friends of mine took time out of their Saturday to be there for me. The incredible trainers at this gym gave me advice and encouragement that will stick with me for the rest of my life. This whole weekend was just a reminder of how much goodness and love that I have around me, and how truly lucky I am.

    I hope everyone knows that they are capable of more than they think, and it’s important to take on a challenge every once in a while to remind yourself of that. You are strong and you can do hard things! You just have to be willing to try.

  • Don’t Worry, I’m Fine

    I know that when everyone woke up and immediately went to look for my daily post, it must have been pretty scary to not see it in your inbox. But rest assured, I am okay. When I walked into the office, Dave was on the floor weeping because he thought something bad must have happened to me. He just loves this blog so much, such a sweetheart that Dave. I was so tired when I got home, and I felt it would be a disservice to my lovely subscribers to write anything half-heartedly. That’s not what I’m about.

    Anyways, Happy Think-Of-Me-Thursday! I hope everyone’s thinking about me and how wonderful I am! Today was a busy day at work and I said a sad goodbye to dear Morgan. She will be gone for 12 days, and I am not going to handle it well. You’ve been warned. Tonight, I went to a basketball game and saw some great coaching from someone named Mr. Handsome. He is great at coaching and great at being handsome. I’m always wondering what he’s writing in his little diary at these games. Also, I got a free hotdog at this game! 😀 It’s the real reason I go. Then, I was part of a hilarious vlog that I hope never sees the light of day. It was a hectic day and an awesome night.

    Tomorrow, I need to meditate all day to get in the right headspace for Saturday. I’m trying to turn my anxiety into excitement. Less than 48 hours! Everyone comment something they’re scared of to make me feel better.

  • Blunch™️ #Yeah

    Today, something incredible was invented by Dave himself. It is called Blunch™️. Let me set the scene: Sheccid, Morgan, and I had just walked back into the office after a quick Publix run. Lunch in hand, we headed into the conference room to eat and talk about how handsome we all are. Dave was already in there and started talking to us as we walked in, and that’s when I heard it: Blunch™️. Immediately, I knew he had to be referring to our Blog Lunch, which is where we eat and I take notes for the blog 😀 Now, if I’m being honest, I have absolutely no idea what Dave was actually trying to say. I probably should’ve been listening, but Blunch™️ just took over my entire brain. And I know what you’re all thinking, was there soup involved? You bet there was.

    Everything following Blunch™️ is just a blur because nothing else could really top that. I do know that I made Morgan laugh about 4 times today, it was awesome. She even admitted to cackling at my blog. I’m so funny and perfect. She also almost sprayed me with soup. I am so glad that didn’t happen; my bangs would not hold up to something like that. I lost another one of my rings today. I thought that it had fallen off at Publix and was long gone, but it was just in my purse. Nothing is ever truly lost.

    There are three days until the competition at my gym. Based on how today went, I am not feeling confident. I’m not sure if I’m getting sick or what but I thought I was going to die during class today. I am going to dry scoop some Emergen-C packets and hopefully I will be all better tomorrow.

  • Four More Days!!

    Happy December!! I have officially started decorating🎄I got my tree up tonight and got some other decorations out and it is looking very beautiful in my living room. I love how cozy and warm everything is this time of year. I think after eight years of being down here, I’m finally getting used to it being warm during Christmas.

    I think December is a good month to reflect on your goals and progress made throughout the year. I like to look at what I’ve accomplished and how I’ve grown, and what I may have treated as less of a priority. There’s still a whole month left in the year to realign with my goals and what I’ve been working towards. Doing this now allows me time to keep making progress towards what I want this year, while setting myself up to be in a better starting place in the new year. Of course, time is all relative and there is no “starting” and “stopping”. So, I guess you could do this at any point really. April 23rd, July 25th, August 2nd. It really doesn’t matter, as long as you keep trying to grow and work towards what you want. I have worked all year towards something that is happening on December 6th. I am so excited and also scared. It’s going to be great.

    I hope that I can get over my allergy to jump lunges in the next 4 days. If anyone knows a cure for that feel free to share it with me.

  • My Stream of Consciousness

    I am sitting in this gym, bored out of my mind. So, I decided the best use of my time would be to just share all of my thoughts as they come to me over the next four hours.

    1:55PM: I am quickly realizing why I stopped drinking Redbull. I am extremely shaky and anxious; however, my mind is very clear which does not happen when I drink Alanis.

    2:00PM: There are only a few people here. I kind of wish they’d leave so that I can just play basketball for the next 4 hours. I need to work on my shot so that I can win next time I play with JJ.

    2:22PM: Spacing these out this way really makes it seem like I only have a thought every 5-20 minutes which is very funny to me.

    2:37PM: Someone hilarious just walked in. This is so great for the bit. I’m never going to die.

    2:44PM: He is not wearing a suit today. Bummer.

    3:27PM: This Redbull is really getting to me I am very antsy right now. I need to run around or something I think my heart is going to explode.

    3:36PM: I invented something new today called Say-Something-Nice-About-Me-Sunday. It’s where everyone has to say something nice about me on Sundays. Feel free to participate in the comments 😀

    3:42PM: I am sitting here laughing to myself while reading my blog as if I am not the one that wrote it. I am very funny. I wonder what everyone in here thinks I’m laughing at. I wonder if they want to read my blog.

    4:17PM: I am getting very sleepy. The Redbull wore off very quickly, now I’m just tired and hungry.

    4:33PM: I have received some very lovely responses to my Say-Something-Nice-About-Me-Sunday message, thank you to those who participated ❤ To those that didn’t answer, I am blocking you. Goodbye forever.

    4:52PM: I lost my ring again. Somewhere in my house I’m sure.

    5:17PM: The clouds that I can see from where I’m sitting look like they’re going to make for a beautiful sunset, I need to get out there.

    5:34PM: Hmm I looked outside and I must have missed it. I miss summer sunrises and sunsets. Here’s one of my favorites, so beautiful.

    I want to live up there.

    5:50PM: Almost time to leave 😀 While this is very boring it does force me to get my work done, so it’s actually been a very productive day and will make my Monday a lot easier.

    5:56PM: I need to find the motivation to go practice some movements for the Level Up Games tonight. I have less than a week and I’m starting to freak out.

    I am home. I unfortunately do have to go work more now though. Wish me luck. I hope everyone loved my thoughts. I’m so pretty and funny and charming!

  • He Didn’t Learn To Rock, He Sat On It

    I had an extremely productive day followed by a very wonderful night. I got up this morning, had my coffee, made a list on what I needed to get done, and then proceeded to do all the things on that list with very little distraction and only got sidetracked a few times. Anyone that knows me, knows that this is a very rare occurrence. My brain worked beautifully today and for that I am very grateful.

    This evening, I met up with some of my lovely friends. We sat on a porch that belonged to none of us, waiting for Santa to arrive. When he did, their son had quite the reaction. Thankfully, I did not have the same reaction. Then, I climbed into the back of their van, and we drove to listen to some funky music. I ate a hotdog, it was amazing. While we were listening to this little band, Morgan made a comment that made me truly question the way she viewed me and my taste in men. For anyone wondering, it is NOT anyone that reminds me even slightly of the character pictured below.

    Unless we’re talking about Will Poulter in his role in The Bear, that’s a different story.

    In other news, I had a victory tonight on something that I had pretty much written off over the last twelve years. I have been searching for a song for ages with literally nothing to go off of. I couldn’t remember the lyrics, artist, genre or even the topic of the song really. All my brain held onto was something about a boy named Michael sitting on a rock, and if you can believe it, Google failed me greatly every time I searched “song about boy sitting on rock”. But tonight, after recruiting my mom and my sister to help me, I finally found it. The song is ‘Forever Everyday’ by Lee Ann Womack. I’m not sure what about this song has captivated part of my brain for twelve years, but I sure am glad I found it. The feeling of rediscovering something that has sat in the very back corner of your mind for over a decade is a feeling that I hope everyone experiences in one way or another. It was a true triumph.

    Tomorrow, I have to sit in a gymnasium and essentially do nothing for 5 hours. So, I am considering writing a 5-hour blog, what do you all think? 😀 If anyone handsome comes in, I will be sure to live-blog about it.

  • My Oura Ring Says to Let Loose

    Yesterday was quite possibly my favorite Thanksgiving to date. I have a big family, so I’m grateful to say that my table has always been full. But watching that table slowly grow throughout the years with new faces has been such a blessing. There were fifteen people at that table last night and I feel so lucky to know and love all of them. I’d like to give a special shoutout to the newest member of my family and a loyal subscriber, JJ, better known as Jage-Tron. My new brother and hopefully my new basketball coach 😀

    Now, it would be a bit lengthy if I recapped the whole day, so instead I will share some quotes from the day. Some said by me, some said by others. I’ll let you guess who said what.

    In my last post, I asked everyone to comment on how I should refer to my sister-in-law’s family. Based on your response, it seems like ‘The Triplets’ is the winner. Now that this has been established, I wanted to share that I have received an update from one of The Triplets on the previously mentioned puzzle. He stated that it is over halfway completed, and he is hoping to have it done by Christmas. If this happens, we will certainly be celebrating. I have thought about this puzzle literally all year and will be beyond impressed to see it finished. The Puzzler himself is now subscribed to this blog and needs everyone’s support, so say something encouraging in the comments.

  • Dinner with the In-Laws?

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Today is one of my favorite days of the year. I love getting to spend time with my family and loved ones on a Thursday evening before all the real holiday chaos starts. Getting to sit down and share a meal with my favorite people and reflect on everything we’re grateful for is something I wish I could experience every day.

    Here is a question for the audience that I hope I will receive some response to. What would you call your sister-in-law’s brother/mother/father? I’ve been calling them my in-laws because it is funny and because I don’t know what else to call them. They’re not nothing to me. Everyone let me know what you think in the comments under my blog. I’m hoping to get an update on an exciting puzzle today. I’ve waited all year for this. I’ll let you guys know what I find out. I hope everyone has a fun day celebrating with people they care about!

  • Cycle Syncing: Soup Edition

    I would like to start this off by giving a shoutout to my number one subscriber of the day, Dave. I walked into the office at 8:00AM and said my usual good mornings, followed immediately by, “Did you read my blog? 🙂 ” And to my surprise, Dave said that he had, and I must say he was absolutely glowing just at the mention of it. I know he’s waiting eagerly for my next post, so let me get to typing.

    While I have many thoughts to share from today, I think it’s most important for my readers to be aware of the potential outcome of sitting just a few feet away from someone for forty hours a week. One day, you’re at your desk working hard and around 1 o’clock, you think, “Hmm, maybe now is a good time to get lunch.” The next thing you know, it’s 11:30 in the morning and your coworker, Morgan, asks if you’re ready to go. You both know that it’s time to go get a bowl of soup and a Cherry Alani. As you’re finding a parking spot at Publix, who do you see walking to their car with a bowl of soup? Dave. That’s who. Morgan and I quickly realized what was happening to us. Our lunch schedules were lining up with the man who takes his shoes off at his desk. We were cycle syncing our soup schedules… I don’t know if there is a lesson to be learned here, but just be cautious of the habits you absorb. I fear one day we’ll all be shoeless and popping stitches.

    Anyways, I laughed a ton today! There is truly nothing in this world I enjoy more than laughing. Give me a good bit to run with and I will live forever. It is such a blessing to be surrounded by hilarious people in every area of my life. It’s even more of a blessing to be the funniest person that I know. I saw a lovely sunset tonight. I had a great workout. I got scared about something that I’ve been excited about for a while. I listened to some good music. I had a bummer of a conversation. I ate some good soup. All of that combined made for a wonderful day. There is joy all around me and it is all around you too if you choose to see it.

    I hope you wake up with joy and gratitude in your heart. I know I will!

  • Oh, That’s Going in the Blog!

    This morning, I sat at my desk laughing until I cried about the fact that I started a blog. I laughed every single time I sent it to someone insisting that they subscribe. To everyone that did, you are wonderful and lovely, and you are going to live forever ❤ To anyone that didn’t, your days are numbered and I am also blocking you. As I sit here writing, I’m realizing that this is basically just going to be an online diary for my friends, family and other handsome people to read. That’s fun for you guys. I hope everyone enjoys the way my brain works!

    Here are my thoughts on the day: Mushrooms don’t belong in soup. They don’t belong in anything really. Making someone laugh so hard that they pop the stitches in their mouth is not as great a feeling as you’d think. I have really wonderful, hilarious coworkers with kind hearts. Calling someone a fool is extremely funny, and I will be adding that into my daily vocabulary. While I may not be excellent at softball, I sure love playing it! Same goes for basketball, dancing, and running. Same goes for everything really. Learning to just enjoy something without needing to be perfect at it has really made my life a lot better.

    I said the word ‘blog’ more today than I have in my entire life. The joy in my heart grew every time I said it. “Oh, that’s going in the blog.” is my new favorite sentence. This has got to be my greatest creation yet. I think small, silly things like this are underrated and they matter more than we give them credit for. I encourage you to wake up tomorrow and find the strangest, most ridiculous way that you can make yourself laugh. I hope you go to sleep with more joy and love in your heart than you had when you woke up. Again, and again and again.
